"I see a big pillow on my hammock, lying there enjoying the ocean breezes," says our favorite local art appraiser about this captivating fabric. Not, of course, that you experience many ocean breezes in Santa Fe, but if the fabric brings about a virtual vacation we'll surround ourselves in it! Though the shellgame motif is clearly evident, we also see a tropical, jungle feel, with lush palm fronds and and conch shells bringing us right to an island rain forest.

Large-scale and mesmerizing, it'll catch your eye and keep your attention. Printed on a glorious 100% hemp twill, hand-screened in New England with waterbased, high-light-fast, pigment dyes, free of heavy metals.

Your color choices are crimson, mossy green, and navy blue, and the design's repeat is 27"v x 18"h. Like all our fabrics, these marvelous materials are free from chemical finishes and flame-retardants.

The two sisters behind Oliveira Textiles have created a line of ocean-inspired sustainable fabrics that are bold, and fun. They're vibrantly original, and will be sure to make a difference both in the look of your house and in the lives of the people involved in their creation.

Can't you just see gorgeous throw pillows, upholstery and so much more? Consider using it for walls (you can always go smaller than the entire wall if cost is an issue...), upholstered headboards (though I'd probably choose to either seal or not use plywood, and I'd use batting instead of foam even though it might have to be repadded more frequently ... but that's because I'm an organic fanatic), comforters and bedskirts, and so much more.

The second image to the left is the designer's rendition of the pattern; the other pictures are of the fabric itself. The very long picture is a photograph of one yard, shown selvage to selvage. The third picture on the left shows an 8-inch ruler to give you a better idea of the scale. Because it's such a large-scale design it is difficult to photograph or scan well, but we did the best we could! On my monitor the picture with the ruler and the picture to the right are most true to color, though your monitor may differ.

This is a sturdy hemp twill, woven in China, with the classic hemp feel that makes it so wonderful for upholstery and other home dec applications.

Ordering a swatch will get you a piece of all three fabrics.
